It was a great experience

My month spent in Mozambique was truly one of the best of my life.

The program was well organised and structured, building from foundational skills to more advanced techniques as the weeks went by. I felt completely supported in my learning – I joined the program with no underwater photography experience, but quickly developed a deep passion, and I felt confident and skilled to take this forward at the completion of the course. The support to alumnis of the program is also fantastic.

Fiona was an amazing teacher and mentor – exceptionally talented, incredibly generous with her time and wonderfully critical. Her passion for the ocean and its animals is so infectious and inspiring.

Guinjata Bay is a beautiful location with amazing marine life. During my stay, humpback whales, mantas and whalesharks were all regular visitors to the bay and on our dives. There’s also a huge diversity of tiny critters – nudis, shrimps, crabs – which are great practice for macro techniques. The accommodation, food, dive shop and staff were all exceptional – it quickly felt like home, and it was very hard to leave at the end of the month.

The program included a number of excursions – both diving and land-based – which were great for exploring more of the local area and learning more about the culture of Mozambique.

I loved everything about this internship and would do it again in a heartbeat!
