I like films; I like animals; but it wasn’t until recently that I realised that I could pursue a career by combining my two passions. However, I had little hands-on experience of either and so decided to take part in a wildlife filmmaking course in August 2017.
During this five week internship, whilst based in Mossel Bay on the Western Cape, I travelled to various parts of South Africa. This included Schotia Game Reserve and Mount Camdeboo Game Reserve within the Karoo. From the footage I collected during this trip I created a five minute long wildlife documentary available to view under the ‘filmography’ tab.
After having the opportunity to experience some of the incredible wildlife that Africa has to offer, and leaving with a five minute documentary I had produced myself, I was certain that this was the path I would like to follow in the future. Upon arriving back in the UK I returned to University, but in my spare time I continue to develop my own projects and experiment with filmmaking and photography.
