Product Cost. Program is too expensive for many people. Realise that most people who cannot afford the programs are not our clients (move on). But for those on the verge we have resources that include (1) the time limited discount offers, (2) fundraising and scholarship ebooks, (3) Affiliate marketing program – to fundraise, and (4) a deposit system where students can pay deposit then fundraise up until their program starts.
Parents. For many young students, parents are worried about program and international travel. Solution: Show your face and build relationship with parents – get them on zoom and show that Africa Media is real and offers true value propositions.
Academic Credit. Academic credit is important for university students, we dont offer academic credit. Solution – Offer to talk with supervisor and give supervisor info about the program and they will allow the program to count for credit to the students university program.
Safety. South Africa has a reputation for crime and being unsafe. Solution – Emphasise that we are located in small towns that are safe. Most of the dangerous crime in SA is limited to the large cities. Our students live and work in country areas where it is very safe and offer to put students in touch with alumni to talk about safety if they wish
Jobs. Students are looking to earn money and ask for jobs after program. Solution: We are not an employment agency, but have solutions. (1) Alumni program that sends out regular notices on jobs and opportunities to our alumni in wildlife media and (2) freelancer section – they can build a profile on our site to market themselves as a freelancer. We refer producers and people to this area and attempt to generate work for our alumni
